Implementing the Save Energy Grow Fruit Tress Project 

Implementing the Project In four School Commuinites 

The save Energy grow fruit trees Project was implemented in Teso collage Aloet, Soroti district, St. Peters Katekwan secondary school, Preparatory Nursery and Primary School And Kongunga High School in Bukedea District. 

Project Activities 

  • Construction of Five Institutional Double Burner Volcanic Rocks and solar Power Aided stoves 

  • Installation Of 35 Domestic Double Burner Volcanic Rocks and Solar power aided stoves 

  • School Technician Hands On Training about repair Maintenance and installation of the stove system

  • Briquette Making , an alternative source of cooking energy

Construction Of 5 Institutional Energy Saving Stoves 

Rotary Club Soroti central and Santa Rosa Eat West California Donated five Double Burner Institutional Energy Saving Stoves to Four schools in the bid of cutting down on these schools firewood consumption rate in Soroti and Bukedea District.  

Donation of 35 Domestic Energy saving Solar Aided Stoves to School community Beneficiaries

In this second phase, Rotary Donated 35 improved domestic solar aided cook stoves to 35 Families. Most of these families selected had 4 and more individuals. The average fuel wood used per month was 4 basins. Most of these individuals also suffered smoke related respiratory and optical infections from poor cooking methods and therefore where now at an advantage when the stoves were donated to them

"I was Using 4 Basins of charcoal every month before Rotary gave me the solar aided stove. Today I only use 1 basin of charcoal per month. Some times I just buy charcoal dust mix it with clay and make briquettes that I use for cooking since vron donated a briquettes making machine  "  —

Briquettes Making And Technician Training 

Technician Training 

Technicians from all four Schools Where Trained about Hands On skills of how to Repair. Maintain and Install Volcanic Rocks and Solar Power Aided cook stoves. This was done to Bridge the Gap Between Service providers and the stove beneficiaries int times of break downs 

Cooking Briquettes Making 

Briquettes making was introduced in the second phase. Briquettes are a type of Bio fuels that are made from mixing charcoal residues with clay. The resultant mix  is left to dry and when used to cook can make a flame that can burn for up to six Hours. 

Vron Engineering Limted donated a briquettes making machine to be used by beneficiaries in the second phase of the project
