St. Immaculate Nawire Primary School

In the heart of Paya Subcounty, Tororo, stands the St. Immaculate Nawire Primary School a place of learning, growth, and now, sustainability. Thanks to the generosity of Rotary, the school has received a remarkable gift that's transforming the way they cook and care for their students.

A Gift of Sustainability: VRSPACS Double Burner Stove

Rotary's donation of an institutional double burner stove, the VRSPACS, has revolutionized how St. Immaculate Nawire Primary School prepares meals. This high-capacity stove serves a thousand students efficiently, ensuring nutritious meals are provided.

Before the VRSPACS stove, the school used three trucks of firewood monthly, harming the environment and incurring significant costs. However, with this eco-friendly stove, the school's environmental footprint has greatly decreased.

Now, the school only uses one and a half trucks of firewood monthly, compared to the previous three. This impressive reduction conserves natural resources and lowers expenses, enabling the school to prioritize student education and well-being.

The VRSPACS stove symbolizes Rotary and the school's commitment to sustainability, responsible resource management, and student well-being. Together, we create a learning environment valuing education and environmental stewardship.

 Technical Training

Empowering Community Technicians with Solar Stove Repair and Maintenance Skills

In this project, we launched a technical training program to equip School Technicians with vital hands-on skills for repairing and maintaining Volcanic rocks and solar-powered aidedstoves. Two technicians per school were chosen for this transformative initiative.

Our training focus was clear: provide comprehensive hands-on skills for repairing both institutional and domestic Volcanic Rocks and solar-powered stoves. This addresses issues that arise when stoves malfunction or need maintenance, ensuring our beneficiaries never go without a meal due to faulty stoves.

By training locals in solar stove repair and maintenance, we're not just creating a skilled workforce but also a resilient community. Our technicians can swiftly address stove-related issues.

We recognize that distance can be a barrier to accessing stove repair services. We continue to equip our trained technicians with necessary spare parts.

User Training

In this Project, our commitment to Beneficiaries goes beyond technical training. We believe that for technology to truly benefit people, it's crucial for end-users to grasp its operation.

We conduct hands-on user training for both domestic and institutional stove users to ensure efficient usage and safety with volcanic rocks and solar-powered stoves.

Our user training sessions are interactive and engaging, covering:

1. Stove Operation: Demonstrating efficient lighting for clean, sustainable cooking.
2. Safety Priority: Emphasizing safe handling to prevent accidents.
3. Optimal Usage: Providing tips for maximum stove efficiency.
4. Troubleshooting: Equipping users with basic problem-solving skills.

Handover

We believe in the power of action for change. After User Training, we hand over stoves, with Rotarians from various clubs coming together for this special gesture.

Our impact goes beyond stove installation; it touches the lives of the people we serve. We personally visited schools and communities to make the handover meaningful.

At Schools: Empowering the Future

Rotarians provided institutional stoves to schools, revolutionizing meal preparation. These stoves save up to 80% on wood fuel costs and offer a smoke-free cooking environment.

At Homes: Brightening Lives

Rotarians handed stoves directly to 30 Domestic beneficiaries, providing energy-saving, sustainable cooking solutions.

From Our Hearts to Yours

The handover of solar stoves fulfills our promise for a cleaner, brighter, and sustainable future, reminding us that positive change is possible, one stove at a time.

Step Four: Installation of Solar Stove in the school:

Our journey toward sustainable living leaps forward as we enter the institutional solar stove installation phase. We ensure the school enjoys the benefits of clean energy at home by setting up the solar system and positioning the stove in the kitchen.

Schools play a pivotal role in our community's development. Installing solar stoves promotes sustainability, creating a healthier, more productive learning environment. We collaborate with St Immaculate Nawire primary school to place the stove where they serve institutional needs.

Community Beneficiaries

In the heart of our community, Rotary has once again exemplified its commitment to improving lives and preserving the environment. With heartfelt generosity, Rotary has bestowed upon the communities of Tororo and Busia a valuable gift - 30 Premium single burner solar-Aided stoves. These stoves represent more than just an appliance; they are a beacon of hope, sustainability, and progress.
